Saturday, October 24 Wayside Grange sponsors a concert at p.m.by The Doughty Hill Band with an engaging mix of bluegrass, folk, rock, Irish, and blues with tight harmonies and virtuoso leads. Donations of desserts and silent auction items are welcome.Participants are encouraged to engage in various activities including art, play, journaling, and talking so that each person may discover what works best for him or her as an individual to help process their grief and to help integrate the loss into one's life.An adult support group is also available for parents or guardians of the children to attend at the same time the children meet. PENQUIS - Friday, October 9 Garland Grange hosts a public boiled dinner from 5 p.m. Menu includes ham and corned beef, plus local vegetables, homemade bread and desserts. The next Nights of Service program begins October 7th and continues through November 11th. Friday, October 9 Garland Grange will hold a Family Contra Dance from 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 13 Valley Grange Bookworms will visit with PCES second and third graders to kick off their annual Bookworm Program.At some point, every family will experience loss through death and the grief that accompanies it.Parents of children or teens are often challenged with helping their children adjust to the many losses incurred by the death.They will meet with victims in person at our resource centers, at one of our outreach locations, or at court when accompanying them to a hearing.Lastly, advocates will support and validate a caller's feelings, identify and explore options, make referrals and assist with safety planning.
